Dearest readers (i.e. Madame Poatsy):
I have, for some time, wanted to explore the blogosphere and decide whether or not I was cut out for it. I want to start a food blog to be a match for my friend's recipe blog, http://collegecravings.blogspot.com/, one day very soon. I am glad to have been given this assignment, or as glad as one can be to be given any homework assignment, because I am not sure when I might have ever gotten around to deciding whether or not to begin this process on my own.
Luckily, because the site itself in addition to the step-by-step instructions provided by my instructor on Blackboard were so detailed and often self-explanatory, I had no troubles whatever in creating a new blog of my very own. I hope to make further adventures on my own to learn how to maintain a blog that pleases my own aesthetic, and also which piques the interest of readers and potential subscribers.
When making an avatar, another little activity I'd not yet indulged in through times of boredom and attempted math homework completion in the wee hours of the morning, I did not initially expect to be entertained. I didn't realize there would be so many options and categories from which to choose and make a true to life representation of myself (hence the Galactic Imperial look). This step in the process turned out to be quite simple as well. It really was, dare I say it, "fun".
While blogging about starting a blog has been less than inspirational, and was not quite what I had imagined for my blogging maiden voyage, I am glad to have practiced and gotten a feel for the layout a bit. I would recommend for new bloggers like myself to make a silly, aimless blog before really tapping into the blogosphere, if only to attain a general idea of the functions and whereabouts of buttons and settings on the site.
I stand at the precipice of the world of blogging. Perhaps soon, I shall take the plunge.
